This particular brand of CapeRecovery Experience was developed because of my own personal journey, having spent a month in a private rehab facility in the UK and finding it just too costly to sustain for any helpful period of time adequate to tackle the depth of my addiction and all the surrounding issues. My only solution to this was to look around for a more affordable alternative in order to receive longer term treatment, with the goal being to locate a suitable quality secondary rehab overseas. Secondary rehab abroad can be a great deal cheaper, particularly over here in South Africa, however, even when I came over, I was still financially penalised purely because I came from the UK which I thought was a little unfair. Whatever the addiction, be it drugs, alcohol or a process addiction, treatment during the secondary period of rehabilitation is similar and treated in the same facility. This is because all addictions, once the substance or the behaviour is removed have similar underlying symptoms and behaviour changes that are needed to be enforced. Time in a top quality and well supported environment is the best and certainly the most effective way to address any addiction issue and all of our secondary treatment is immediately followed up by a period in a sober living environment where the client can continue to work through all of their individual issues whilst, at the same time, being supported by a team of highly qualified professionals and others in this homely community. Whilst comfortable and in the safety of our excellent sober living environment, the client will be carefully re-integrated into ‘normal’ life once again by attending social events and meetings with the recovery community in Cape Town. They will also be encouraged to take part in an array of activities, such as surfing, personal training or yoga lessons on the beach or many incredible guided walks around the most picturesque parts of this incredible and diverse city. We also offer a variety of voluntary opportunities and projects with our friends here at African Sunrise.
Our specially and individually tailored CapeRecovery Experiences are a direct result of our belief that any kind of addiction (drug or alcohol), process addiction (Gaming, Love, Porn, Gambling, Sex, etc.), dual-diagnosis issue (including depression) or eating disorder (anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating or food addiction) treatment should always be planned purely based on the personal needs of the client.
