It was only after spending approximately £30,000, which is a lot of money, on just 6 weeks in a UK primary rehab facility, all during my time of crisis, that I realised I needed a considerably longer and much more effective treatment and simply just could not afford to sustain that kind of spending! This is why I wish that I'd started my own recovery journey in Cape Town and the reason why I founded CapeRecovery. World Class Drug Addiction Rehab, Alcohol Addiction Rehab and Process Addiction Rehab with an African Safari
The world class rehab with which we partner is absolutely breath-taking, in fact, the best that I've had the pleasure of visiting as a guest and I've seen a lot of rehabs! It is perfectly situated near the airport in Nelspruit, home to the world famous 'Kruger National Park'. You or your loved one will be met directly at the airport on arrival and then transported to the luxury facility that is housed at a newly re-furbished game lodge with the full five star hotel standard service and meals. Initially the client will be fully, medically detoxed and assessed by the top quality doctors and psychologists in order to plan their own individualised treatment. As they progress through the program, they will have their own counsellor and also participate fully in the excellent therapeutic program and group work. Something that differs from all the other rehabs is that they do allow the use of laptops and phones and full internet access is provided, so it is also an ideal place for someone who needs that time out in order to get well again but must also be in touch with the outside world for business purposes. Towards the end of their stay, when the client is feeling a lot more rested, energetic and confident, they will be taken, if they would like, to visit the world famous Kruger National Park and view South Africa’s incredible natural array of animals. Following all of this, they will then be transported to the airport, fly the short trip to Cape Town and then be picked up by CapeRecovery on arrival and taken to the next step of their complete recovery journey.
Eating Disorder Rehab
We are fussy and as such, we treat all of our clients according to their individual requirements so, as eating disorders and food addiction issues always require specialist care, we must bring our clients directly to our quality eating disorder clinic in Cape Town, once we have ensured their safety and established their fitness to fly (see the Eating Disorder Page to see what we offer treatment for). This is then followed by an extended period of time living in our exclusive and homely continued care facility or our supported sober living home with everything that is on offer there and aftercare provided by the world class eating disorder clinic.
Sober Living in beautiful Cape Town
For our complete 6 month package, what I believe to be the optimum time for a fully enriched recovery experience, it is recommended to do a further two months (secondary rehab) in our highest quality Cape Town rehab. This will give the individual client the opportunity to really work on their addiction exploring and dealing with, in a lot more depth, any underlying issues or past, previous trauma, whilst gaining a full understanding of addiction and the reasons why some people turn to alcohol, behaviours or their drug of choice to escape feeling.
Following this extended rehab period, or also available immediately after landing in Cape Town, a period of quality and fully supported sober living will commence at our highest quality and uniquely homely sober living house. During their time here in sober living (2-11 months), the client can get fully involved with all recovery meetings and social events with both the people in the house and also the wider Cape Town Recovery Community. This is what real and authentic recovery from addiction is all about, fully engaging and actively enjoying life whilst still remaining safe, clean and sober. CapeRecovery have a wide range of exciting and fun activities on offer, from surfing lessons, yoga and personal training on the beautiful array of Cape Town beaches, to fully guided walks around the many areas of interest and even some incredible volunteering projects that are going on and supported by us all around the city, with our wonderful partners at African Sunrise!
